Basile Desquiens
Founder — SQI Services
Built on hands-on aviation experience
I founded SQI Services around the experience I have built across airline operations, business aviation and operational management.
My career started in flight dispatch and operational control, with experience across aircraft ranging from 4.7 to 447.7 tonnes MTOW. Along the way, I contributed to the creation of two Operations Control Centres — first as a founding dispatcher, and later as an OCC Manager responsible for developing operational processes and training the team.
I subsequently moved into regulatory management, contributing to the establishment of an EASA AOC before taking up an approved Nominated Person position within the organisation. Alongside this role, I am an approved Aviation Security Manager and Instructor, with instructor approvals under two European National Civil Aviation Security Programmes (NCASPs).
A strong interest in technology and digital tools has always complemented my operational background. That curiosity naturally led me to take responsibility for EFB management and, more recently, Part-IS coordination, bridging operational needs, technology and regulatory requirements.
The way I work is grounded in rational thinking, consistency and attention to detail. I tend to approach problems with curiosity and creativity, while remaining cautious about their operational consequences and open to nuance, challenge and feedback.
Whether the subject is operational, regulatory, technical or simply requires a fresh perspective, I am always interested in understanding the problem and exploring how I can contribute. If you think my experience and approach could bring value to your organisation or project, I would be happy to discuss it.
Let’s talk about where you’re going.
Some projects require specific expertise. Others simply benefit from an experienced outside perspective. From operational and regulatory challenges to new ideas, transformations or projects that do not fit neatly into a predefined category, I am always interested in understanding the context and finding a pragmatic way forward.
Tell me what you are working on, where you want to get to and what stands in the way. Let’s see how I can contribute.
